2011-2012 Back to School Information

July 2011

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to the new school year! While there are many more relaxing summer days ahead for you, here on campus we are busy getting ready for the 2011-2012 school year with some exciting changes. We will be opening the year with our first all-school summer read, Tuesdays with Morrie, and bringing back a popular speaker for our first school assembly. We are also introducing a new grade and homework site for students and parents. Another big surprise that will greet our students in August is the construction start of our new student learning center. For an up-to-date view of the project, check out the construction webcam. We look forward to welcoming our students back to Saint Francis with an outstanding new school year!

As we continue to pursue a greener environment, we are web-posting all of your Back-to-School information. A small package including this letter, Important Back to School Dates, the Student-Parent Handbook Acknowledgment Form (Due Aug. 17) and the Summer Campus Review was your only summer mailing – these materials and everything else you need to know to start the school year can be accessed on this webpage. Carefully review these materials and note specific dates and deadlines.

There are several online programs that you will want to access before school starts including the online student car registration, the student lunch account program information and the course and book list. All can be accessed at the links on the right. Course and Book list information was available as of July 7 if all enrollment forms have been submitted and the July tuition is paid.

If you want to stay current on everything happening on our campus, make it a habit to check the school’s website regularly and utilize the new tools. The site is updated daily to reflect the latest news, daily announcements and upcoming events. You can connect to our iCalendar and RSS feeds, plus there is the ability to access the sfhs.com/mobile site for your web-enabled cell phone. These tools were developed to help you stay connected to Saint Francis, so we hope you sign up for these programs on our website.

Registration and picture day is Aug. 17 for all students. Freshmen will be the first to register, after which they will meet in Raskob Gym for Orientation, walk through a mini school day to meet their teachers and enjoy a pizza lunch with their new classmates.

I hope you are enjoying these wonderful summer days. I look forward to seeing you in August!

Sincerely,
Patricia Tennant
Principal
