The summer all sports camp is designed for youngsters ages 6 - 12, and provides group instruction in a variety of sports including football, basketball, baseball, soccer, softball, track, water-sports, and court games,. The camp is staffed by SFHS faculty and students, and the focus is on fun. The camp is dedicated to teaching teamwork, sportsmanship and positive self-esteem. Swim lessons and after camp care are available.

Week 1, 2 & 4: $325 per week per camper
Week 3: $195 per week per camper
This fee includes daily lunch and a “Saint Francis Sports & Activity Camp” T-shirt.
Camp Philosophy
The Saint Francis Sports and Activity Camp has been structured to provide each youngster with a variety of learning experiences. Our goal is to give group and individual instruction in a number of sports, while also teaching teamwork and good sportsmanship . The staff of the Sports and Activity Camp will work diligently to provide an active learning environment, while also emphasizing the positive development of each youngster’s self-esteem.
Staff
The staff of the Saint Francis Sports and Activity Camp will consist of Saint Francis High School faculty, area college athletes, and Saint Francis High School students. All sports instruction will be given by Saint Francis faculty members or qualified college athletes.
Lunch
Lunch is provided each day for the entire camp. If you prefer to pack a lunch for your child, you may do so.
Equipment
On the first day bring your tennis shoes, baseball glove, play clothes, hat, suntan lotion, swimsuit, water bottle and towel. All campers report to main Gym for check-in. You may drop off your child in front of the gym as early as 8:30 am, but no earlier as there will be no camp supervision prior to that time. This is where you may also pick up your child. Pick up is at 2:30 pm every day. If your child misplaces or loses equipment/clothes, please look in the lost and found located at the registration table. Please do not bring any valuables, as we are not responsible for lost or stolen items. It is helpful to label all of your items and use the same locker each day.
Swimming
All swim activities will be taught by qualified instructors, and supervised by lifeguards and camp staff.

Swim Lessons (After Camp)
Saint Francis High School Sports and Activity Camp will offer swim lessons after camp each day. Lessons will be offered at four levels* at two different sessions. Lessons will have a max student/teacher ratio of 6:1.
Lesson packages include five consecutive lessons of 30 minutes each, taught between the hours of 2:45 - 3:45 p.m.
Lesson packages are $60.00 per swimmer, and include a skills evaluation for each camper. You must attend the Sports Camp during the same time period as the swim lessons. No adjustments can be made when you register for swim lessons. Swim lessons are offered only during the following time slots listed below.

- 2:45 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.
- 3:15 p.m. - 3:45 p.m.
Swim Lessons (Morning)
Saint Francis High School will offer one week swim lessons from June 11th through July 6th. Lessons will be offered at four levels* at two different sessions. Lessons will have a max student/teacher ratio of 6:1.

Lesson packages are $75.00 per swimmer, and include a skills evaluation for each camper. You can not and do not need to attend the Sports Camp during the same time period as the morning swim lessons. Swim lessons are offered during the following time slots listed below.

- 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
*Swim Lesson Levels
Beginner (Level I)
Prerequisite: Child must be comfortable in the water without a parent and able to swim a short distance (5 yards, horizontal, face and eyes down) with splashy kicks.
What they will learn: Swimming and breathing without the assistance of fins. Arm stretching techniques in preparation for freestyle and the back stroke kicking and body positioning. The child is ready for the next level when she/he can swim on stomach and back without 12 1/2 yards.
Novice (Level II)
Prerequisite: Child must be able to swim unassisted on front and back for 12 1/2 yards
What they will learn: Over the water arm recovery, side breathing, backstroke arms. The child is ready for the next level when he/she can swim freestyle w/ side breathing, backstroke for 12 1/2 yards each. Tread water for 30 seconds.
Intermediate (LEVEL III)
Prerequisite: Child must be able to swim freestyle w/ side breathing and Backstroke for 12 1/2yards.
What they will learn: Fine tune freestyle and backstroke, learn breaststroke and dolphin kick. The child is ready for the next level when she/he can complete 25 yards of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke (w/glide) and dolphin kick. Tread water for 60 seconds.
Advance (LEVEL IV)
Prerequisite:Complete 25 yards of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke (w/glide) and dolphin kick.
What they will learn: Racing starts, flip turns, basic competition workout knowledge.
After Camp Care Program (2:30-5:30pm)
The Saint Francis High School Sports and Activity Camp is pleased to offer an After Camp Care Program to those families who cannot pick their youngsters up at 2:30 p.m. Parents who wish to utilize the After Camp Care Program may do so, at a cost of $125 per week, per child (July 1 week cost is $75). The After Camp Care Program will provide arts and craft materials, books, videos and a collection of games, as well as an afternoon snack and drink.
Parents can pick up their child any time between 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Refund Policy for all Summer Programs
The last day to withdraw from a program is May 30, 2013. After this date, refunds will not be provided. Refunds will be processed on the 1st and 15th of every month. A $100 cancellation fee per high school class withdrawal, a $50 fee per middle school/afternoon activity, and a $50 per sports/advanced camp cancellation will be deducted from all tuition refunds. Refund requests must be submitted in writing or by email (summer@sfhs.com) to the summer school office - no exceptions will be made to this policy.
