Admissions Criteria - Class of 2017

  1. Required Confidential Recommendation and Transcript Request Form (click here to view and print).
Please download one copy of this form and drop it off at your school. The form should be filled out by a 7th or 8th grade teacher (English, Math, Science or Social Studies). We only require one Confidential Recommendation form per student.

Non-Academic letters of recommendation are not a part of our Admission criteria, but if you would like to send a Non-Academic letter of recommendation, we will add it to the applicant’s file.

  2. The application for the class of 2017 must be completed and submitted by December 14, 2012.
The $75 application fee will be processed via an online credit card charge. If you have any questions, please contact the Admissions Office at 968-1213, ext 213. Applications are no longer being accepted for the class of 2017

  3. Baptismal Certificate
All Catholic applicants must submit a copy of their Baptismal certificate. This certificate may be mailed, faxed, scanned and emailed or dropped off in the Admissions Office prior to the December 14 deadline.

  4. High School Placement Test
This test must be taken by all eighth grade applicants. Applicants applying to more than one Catholic high school may take the exam only once. If you are not taking the HSPT at Saint Francis High School, be sure to register directly with the school at which you are taking the exam.

Saint Francis will administer the High School Placement Test on Saturday January 12, 2013 and Saturday January 26, 2013. The exam will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. and end at 12:15 p.m. When taking the test, each student can indicate multiple schools in which they would like their test scores sent.

To address the issue of choice, Catholic high schools in the San Jose Diocese are asking that students take the HSPT at the high school that they would most like to attend in the fall.

  5. Financial Aid
Tuition for 2012-2013 is $14,700. Tuition for 2013-2014 will be set early in 2013. If a student is accepted, a non-refundable tuition deposit is required. For those who wish to be considered for Financial Aid, the packets are available online.
