Drama
The Drama Department at Saint Francis is one of the best in the area. Our outstanding Theater Program offers a unique, four-year curriculum for serious theater students as well as countless performance opportunities for all interested students. In addition to the two major stage productions, students interested in drama have the opportunity to perform in several events throughout the year including Children’s Musical Theater, Drama 4 Shows, children’s drama camps and One Acts. Drama provides leadership programs in all aspects of theater including student directors, stage crew, technical crew, costume design and student choreographers.
The Drama Department takes pride not only building a strong theater program, but also in building a strong community with student leaders aiding the directors in running all aspects of the theater. If you want to be a part of quality productions, prepare for college auditions or even pursue a career in theater or television, then Saint Francis drama is the place to be!

Large Stage Productions
Saint Francis stages two major productions each year that are open to auditions for anyone at Saint Francis. Our fall drama occurs each year in November, with auditions during September. Past fall drama productions include “The Crucible” (2007), "The Diary of Anne Frank" (2006), “The Importance of Being Earnest” (2005) and “To Kill A Mockingbird” (2004).
The annual spring musical is performed two weeks after Easter. Nearly 100 students participate in these productions that include large casts, a complete stage crew, student choreographers, costume designers, a technical crew and an orchestra. Past shows include "Cabaret" (2008) “Grease” (2007) “42nd Street” (2006) and “Beauty and the Beast” (2005).
Additional Performance Opportunities
The “One Acts” are performed each spring. Auditions are held and over 50 students are usually involved with directing, acting and producing these shows.
Children’s Theater is an annual favorite for the community. Saint Francis students perform seven shows for over 900 grammar school students ranging from ages 5 to 10.
The Drama 4 Shows are directed and produced by Drama 4 students and grace audiences during January and May each year.
Saint Francis holds an annual drama camp at a local elementary school. Every 30 Saint Francis students volunteer to teach K-8 grade students how to sing, dance and act in this camp, which finales with a performance for the parents. Our students are true leaders as they touch the lives of many young students.
Saint Francis hosts a summer drama camp for middle school students from grades 7 to 8. Our drama students, under the direction of Ms. Rose, teach singing, dancing and acting during the camp, which is held at Saint Francis. Once again, our students reach out to serve the community by sharing their talents with others.
