    When Toney was a sophomore he no-heighted in the pole vault at the CCS meet, but he had a chance to compete with two-time state champion Nico Weiler of Los Gatos. This season,


    JEFFERY BUTLER Thrower of the year

    Butler is a versatile athlete who plans to continue his track and field career as a decathlete at Cal. He has pole vaulted 14 feet and finished fourth (15.35) in the 110 hurdles at the West Catholic Athletic League meet. At CCS, Butler finished third in the discus with a then-personal-best of 153-7 and was third in the shot put (48-8). He improved dramatically at the state meet in the discus - shattering his previous best with a throw of 170-11, good for sixth place and a place on the medal stand.

  • Six Lancers earn All-Mercury News baseball post-season honors

    First Team

    Scotty Jarvis, Junior OF
    Jarvis was a first-team WCAL selection. He led the Lancers with a .425 batting average and pounded out 48 hits with 34 RBIs and 35 runs scored. He hit .500 in league play and drove in 18 runs as the Lancers finished tied with Serra and Valley Christian atop the WCAL regular-season standings.
