Student Requirements
Senior Requirement
Due Date: Tuesday, January 29, 2008
All forms verifying service must be completed and turned in to Campus Ministry before this date.
Minimum Requirement: At least 10 hours of service and reflection assignment for Religious Studies class.
Senior service hours can be completed the summer before the senior year.
Core Hours: At least 4 hours working with economically poor (i.e. soup kitchens, Sunnyvale or San Jose Armories, Alpha Omega Program, Sunnyvale Community Services, Palo Alto Urban Ministry, Los Altos/Mt. View Community Services, Emergency Housing Consortium etc.) Credit will NOT be given for work in Food Banks as that is a project "for" rather than "with" the poor.)
Additional Required Hours: 6 hours of service that may be working with poor or children (ages 5 -13 years) or other people who are in some way disadvantaged (disabled, elderly, etc.)
Please Note:
- All Service must be conducted at community, school or church agencies or organizations that place the student in direct contact, working with people in need.
- Working to serve friends, family or neighbors does not meet the graduation requirements set forth by Saint Francis High School.
- Students will not be excused during the school day to complete service.
- All service must be conduced away from the school campus.
Junior Requirement
Due Date: Wednesday, March 17, 2008
All forms verifying service must be completed and turned in to Campus Ministry before this date.
Minimum Requirement: 15 hours of service and reflection assignment for Religious Studies class
Junior service hours can be completed the summer before the junior year.
Core Hours: at least 10 hours working with elderly (in a licensed residential care facility, convalescent hospital, daycare program)
Additional Required Hours: 5 hours of service that may be working with elderly (in a licensed facility or children (5-13years old) or other people who are in some way disadvantaged (disabled, poor, etc)

- All Service must be conducted at community, school or church agencies or organizations that place the student in direct contact, working with people in need.
- Working to serve friends, family or neighbors does not meet the graduation requirements set forth by Saint Francis High School.
- Students will not be excused during the school day to complete service.
- All service must be conduced away from the school campus.
Sophomore Requirement
Due Date: Monday, March 28, 2007
All forms verifying service must be completed and turned in to Campus Ministry before this date.
Minimum Requirement: 15 hours of service and reflection assignment for Religious Studies class
Sophomore service hours may be completed in the summer before the sophomore year.
Core Hours: at least 10 hours teaching ministry with children of grammar school age (5-13years old) YMCA daycare or camps, church camps or daycare, shelter programs with kids, coaching a team, teaching a skill, tutoring in an established program.
Additional Required Hours: 5 hours of service that may be teaching ministry with children (5 -13 years old) or work with other people who are in some way disadvantaged (Disabled, elderly, poor etc.)

Freshman Requirements
Minimum Requirement: 10 hours of service and religious studies reflection
Freshman service hours may NOT be completed in the summer before the freshman year.

Core Project: at least 3 hours working with developmentally disabled people (i.e. Agnews Developmental Center, Special Olympics, Westwind Horseback Riding for the Handicapped, Community Association for the Retarded [C.A.R.], etc.)
Additional Required Hours: 7 hours of service that may be working with developmentally disabled people or with grammar school age children or other people who are in some way disadvantaged (i.e. elderly, economically poor etc.).
