Agencies that work with senior citizens (elderly) PLEASE BE AWARE THAT MANY CONVALESCENT HOSPITALS WILL ASK FOR VERIFICATION OF A RECENT TB TEST - THIS TAKES TIME Service with elderly must involve the student with elderly people who are of sufficient age as to be in need of extra assistance. This must be done through an authorized agency. The student must abide by the agency rules and work through the volunteer coordinator who will orient the student to the facility. STUDENTS MUST CALL FIRST AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR AN INTERVIEW AND ORIENTATION. NEW OPPORTUNITY: LOS ALTOS SUB-ACUTE REHABILITATION CENTER is looking for volunteers for a new program that they are starting. Students will be trained on providing new patient orientation to incoming patients at the center. They are looking for students who would be available to work from 4-7pm to meet and greet new patients. They are looking for students to make a long term commitment.
