June 30, 2017
Dear Parents and Students,
Happy Fourth of July! I hope you are enjoying your summer and taking advantage of these "lazy days of summer" with some great family time. While it is just the beginning of summer, we are already busy getting ready for the 2017-18 school opening. Last year at this time we were laying a new softball field and installing lighting in the parking lots and aquatic center. This year we are sprucing up the classrooms with fresh paint and new projectors and redesigning another new high tech classroom. We are also excited to welcome our new faculty and the class of 2021. It promises to be another outstanding school year!
As we continue to pursue a greener environment, we are posting all of your Back-to-School information online. Everything you need to know to get start planning for the new school year can be accessed in the Additional Resources section at the bottom of this email. Carefully review the materials and note specific dates and deadlines. We will be sending additional information to you in August in preparation for the new school year.
There are several online programs that you will want to access before school starts, including the course and book list information. In August, juniors and seniors will be able to access the online student car registration.
Course and Book List
Course and Book list information will be available on July 10 if all enrollment forms have been submitted and the July tuition is paid. If your forms or tuition is not up-to-date, you will be notified when you access the course and book list information link.
iPads
The iPad program requires summer preparation. Please read the iPad Memo and review the iPad Acceptable Use Policy Agreement. If you do not yet have your iPad, you must bring a signed copy of your Use Agreement in order to be issued your iPad.
Summer Reading
The all-school book this summer is
Where You Go is Not Who You Will Be.
Information for all summer reading is available on our website.
Liturgy Wardrobe
Visit Lands' End online to purchase the Saint Francis Liturgy Wardrobe. The logo wardrobe is a simple shirt (boys) or blouse (girls) and sweater with the Holy Cross logo. You must order the wardrobe by August 1 to receive it in time for school pictures on August 21.
All students will need to wear their liturgy shirts (including ties for boys) for pictures.
Registration Day
Registration Day, pictures and iPad pick-up is Monday, August 21 for all students. This year we will be registering all students on one day. Freshmen will be the first to register on August 21, followed by their orientation and iPad training. All sophomores, juniors and seniors will register after the freshmen. For more information on these days and other important dates for the opening days of school, check the important back-to-school dates.
Senior College Workshop
Seniors will also have a short college workshop on Registration Day. As a follow-up to the work you did last spring on college planning, the counseling department is hosting an hour with your college counselor to jump start your senior year. This will take place during your registration time of 12:45 - 2:30. Please plan on a two-hour block on Registration Day to include your registration and college meeting. More information will be coming in the August letter.
Don't Miss Out
If you want to stay current on everything happening on our campus, make it a habit to check the school's website regularly and utilize the convenient tools. The site is updated daily to reflect the latest news, daily announcements and upcoming events. You can connect to our iCal feeds or visit our parent portal, which were developed to help you stay connected to Saint Francis.
I hope you are enjoying these wonderful summer days. I look forward to seeing you in August!
Sincerely,
Patricia Tennant
