Educational technologists announced

The 1:1 iPad program is off to a great start already, as Ms. Bega and Mr. Maguire have been named the school’s educational technologists who will help their colleagues renovate lesson plans with technology.
Teachers have already received their iPads and are undergoing professional development training, and next year, Ms. Bega and Mr. Maguire will offer additional training so teachers can share ideas.
“We want teachers to feel comfortable coming to us for help so they don’t feel they’re alone,” Mr. Maguire said. “We will train them so they are up to date on the latest technology and software and answer questions.”
The fact that they are both teachers is an asset, they say, because they understand what goes into creating lesson plans that work.
“Our goal is to have every teacher use the iPad on a consistent basis for lesson implementation,” Ms. Bega said. “If teachers have a lesson that they want to incorporate technology, we will help them make it happen.”
Students will receive their iPads during Registration Days in August. More information on the 1:1 iPad program is available online.
