Senior Simrin Das brings eyesight overseas

Posted September 11

Senior Simrin Das journeyed to the mountains of Nepal to be an integral part of the Sight Back for 100 Eyes Campaign. Representing Saint Francis High School’s Stand Up! Speak Up Club!, Simrin raised almost $2,000 and worked with Dr. Ruit and the Himalayan Cataract Project, providing 95 sight restoring surgeries.

Simrin’s visit was recognized and published in the July 2012 Himalayan Cataract Project newsletter (scroll to the bottom of the page).

In a letter to Saint Francis, Dr. Ruit wrote, “I am delighted to see Simrin Das show great leadership and caring for this mission as she has led Saint Francis High School to conceive, execute and deliver on the Sight Back for 100 Eyes Campaign.”

Congratulations to Simrin for her hard work, dedication and service to others.
