Students raise $1280 for New York sister school

ASB students organized a lunch time auction to raise money for Holy Cross High School, a sister school of Saint Francis that sustained damage from Hurricane Sandy.

The auction raised $1281.50 from both lunches. The most popular prizes students vied for included junior prom/senior ball bids that went for $100 and chauffeured transportation to class for a day on a golf cart, which went for $65. ASB members said they wanted to make prizes relevant to students by including prizes that involved teachers, such as a jam session with Mr. Ikezi or lunch with Mr. Carroll and Mr. Mikula.

“It was a fun event, and it was great to see how some people got competitive with each other,” senior Maggie Troedson said.
