Saint Francis mourns the loss of Fr. Mark Catalana

Father Mark graduated from Saint Francis in 1982 and returned as our chaplain in 1993, ministering to our students for ten years. He was a beloved chaplain who loved Saint Francis, Saint Francis students and Lancer athletics. He remained friends with many faculty, staff and alumni over the years, marrying them and baptizing their children. He will be greatly missed by all. Saint Francis High School is pleased to announce that Greg Calcagno ’83 has been hired as the new head varsity football coach. A graduate of Saint Francis High School, Greg brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the position from his time as a player and coach at Saint Francis and at Santa Clara University.

Eric Lewis '94 Named Defensive Coordinator at Weber State

Weber State football head coach Jody Sears has announced changes to the Wildcat coaching staff for the upcoming football season. Sears has named Robin Pflugrad as the new offensive coordinator with the Wildcat football program. Sears has also named Steve Morton as the Associate Head Coach and Eric Lewis as defensive coordinator. Both Morton and Lewis spent the 2012 season as assistant coaches at Weber State.

Matt Doyle '94 Voted Director of Football Operations of the Year

STANFORD, Calif. - Matt Doyle has been named the 2012 FootballScoop Director of Football Operations of the Year, as announced recently by FootballScoop.com. Doyle was one of three finalists for the award, which is voted upon by previous winners.
"Matt keeps Stanford football organized," Bradford M. Freeman Director of Football. Head Coach David Shaw said. "From budgets and schedules to spring practices and summer jobs, and from game one through our third BCS bowl game in a row, Matt keeps our coaches and players informed, in line and in position to be successful."
