Saint Francis students have a long track record of receiving distinguished honors, and this year is no different. Senior Heajune Lee has been selected as a semifinalist in the prestigious Coca-Cola Scholars Program.
She and other semifinalists have made it through the first stage of selection and will continue through the application process for the opportunity of becoming a Coca-Cola Scholar. Students are selected to advance based on their academic excellence, leadership and dedication to their community.
Heajune, who is interested in studying international relations, is an honor student and at Saint Francis, she serves as captain of Model United Nations, president of Stand Up! Speak Up!, and an editor on the Lancer newspaper staff. She also performs with the school’s string ensemble.
This year, the Coca-Cola Foundation received nearly 86,000 applications, and approximately 1,900 semifinalists are vying for 150 college scholarships each worth $20,000.
