Jazz Band

The Jazz Band is an award-winning ensemble at Saint Francis High School. The Jazz ensemble is a group of advanced musicians who in addition to traditional musical training receive knowledge and training in "Jazz" styles through improvisation, music theory and performance. As an advanced musical ensemble, this group has high professional standards and is active in performing at many events. Students who enjoy Jazz and wish to enroll in this class may do so by audition only. Admittance is based on skill and instrumentation needs. A student must be enrolled in either Concert Band or Symphonic Band in order to audition to be a member of the Jazz Band. The Jazz Band rehearses 4 hours per week outside of the school day.
