  • No experience necessary to join!

Symphonic Band

The Symphonic Band  premiere wind ensemble at Saint Francis High School. One year experience in Concert Band is required for entry into this ensemble. In Symphonic Band, music theory, history, aural skills, and performance are explored at greater depth through performance. This ensemble hosts three concerts annually, performs locally at colleges and community events, participates in CMEA festivals, and are members of the Lancer Marching Band.

Concert Band and Symphonic Band cover a broad range of musical styles, emphasizing wind band literature from 1900 to the present day. We perform repertoire by a wide variety of composers and celebrate new music, especially by our students! These are performance-based classes and members can anticipate over twenty performances each school year.

Marching Band is a unit of study in both classes; membership in the Lancer Band is required for all students enrolled in any band class.

Concert Band and Symphonic Band are classes and meet during the school day. Both ensemble classes fulfill graduation requirements.

All members of Concert Band and Symphonic Band are eligible to travel on our yearly tours. We have toured in Scotland, Los Angeles, Seattle, Austria and the Czech Republic, Hawaii, and to many more locations!
