December 18, 2019 Alumni,
This is the time of year when Saint Francis students and staff take time to reflect on the significance, the beauty, and the wonder of this Christmas season. We lit Advent candles, joined together in prayer, raised funds and collected toys for others in need. The Christmas spirit was evident during the Lancer Band and Choir performances, at the Christmas At Our House Boutique, and during a ugly or nice holiday sweater free dress day. Every week, even if school is not in session, there is something exciting happening on campus. Alumni are invited to watch lively competition and share Lancer pride at SFHS sporting events. The holiday basketball tournament, held on 12/27th, 28th, & 30th, is a long-standing Lancer tradition. Now named to honor a Lancer Legend, The Joe Schram Holiday Classic is a family friendly event featuring premier basketball. Visit sfhsathletics.com for more details about this tournament and all SFHS athletics activities.
The Saint Francis Varsity Girls Soccer Team takes the field against Lancer soccer alumni on Saturday, December 28th at 11:00 am. Pizza will be served at the benches in the stadium following the game. Bring the family and come cheer your favorite Lancers!
Mark your calendars for several entertaining Lancer Performing Arts productions. The student produced and performed musical, "All Shook Up," takes the stage on January 16th, 17th and 18th at 7:00 pm. There will be no shortage of laughs at the Improv Comedy Show on January 31st at 7:00 pm. Fans of musicals won't want to miss the Lancer Broadway Showcase on February 11th at 6:00 pm. Come to the Saint Francis Performing Arts Center to support our talented students and enjoy these great performances. Tickets may be purchased at the door or online a week prior to the show.
The 7th Annual Captain Matthew Manoukian '01 Memorial Crab Feed is almost sold out. However, if you would like to support this worthwhile cause that honors Captain Matt Manoukian '01 and raises funds for financial aid, please contact Mike Speckman at mikespeckman@sfhs.com for underwriting or volunteer opportunities.
If you have not yet had the chance, we hope you will include Saint Francis students in your year-end charitable giving decisions. Your Alumni Class Endowed Scholarship gift will be combined with gifts from many classmates to maximize its impact. On behalf of the students whose lives are forever changed because of your support, thank you for allowing them to be Lancers. Please visit sfhs.com/alumnigiving19-20 to complete your gift and create possibilities for qualified students.
