Lancer Family Connection Women's Retreat - God is Beauty

“In everything which gives us the pure authentic feeling of beauty there really is the presence of God.”
– Simone Weil

We are made for infinite, perfect, absolute Beauty, and God gives us abundant traces of this beauty in the world all around us. However, we are often too busy or distracted to take in this beauty and to let it lead us to God, the ultimate Source of Beauty. This year’s women’s retreat invites us to spend a day enjoying beauty in order to draw closer to God. Our speaker, Fr. Kevin Lixey, LC, the former International Director of the Patrons of the Arts in Vatican City, will invite us to consider how art and creativity can deepen our faith before leading us in a guided meditation before a sacred icon. Molly Oshatz, a current Saint Francis parent, will speak about what the Annunciation can show us about encountering beauty. Retreatants will also enjoy Mass, fellowship, delicious food, and a docent-guided tour of the sacred art on campus. Come and join us as we find God in the beautiful!
