Interpreting Unity Through Art and Language

Though travel to foreign locales was incredibly restricted this summer, this limitation didn’t stop Saint Francis students from celebrating their love of languages.

The World Language Honor Society organized an art contest to engage fellow students and demonstrate the diversity of language. Responding to the theme of unity, many Lancers submitted original artwork, music, essays and poetry all incorporating a language other than English. The art contest was one of the #LancersConnect summer activities.

The first place winner was “Blind Like Me,” a song written by sophomore Marissa Del Rio. The runners-up, who were tied, were artwork created by freshman Aiden Olsen and “Un Monde, Un Cœur,” a poem written by sophomore Sarah Fazioli.

Thank you to all who participated!
