- SCHOOL AFFAIRS
Saint Francis announces two leadership hires to its team of administrators for the 2021-22 school year.
Hector Camacho will serve as the Director of School Culture and Belonging, leading efforts to foster an inclusive environment in every aspect at Saint Francis and to ensure that the school maintains principles of social justice and dignity. Mr. Camacho has been at Saint Francis since 2013; he taught social studies and was a sophomore counselor before stepping into the Director of Guidance and College Counseling position. Currently, Mr. Camacho is serving as the interim Director for Social Justice, Equity and Inclusion. As the leader of the SJEI team, he oversaw the creation of the “Saint Francis Framework for Equity,” a guiding document that informs the school’s practices for social justice work. Since its inception in 2019, the team has led professional development, recommended and implemented new policies, and partnered with individuals and departments to advance the school’s commitment to Catholic education rooted in social justice.
"Mr. Camacho is a mission-driven, equity-focused educational leader who brings a vast amount of experience and expertise to this new role. As we continue our mission to ensure all students feel welcomed, included and loved as members of our Saint Francis family, we are delighted to have Mr. Camacho to help lead and further this work together with our educators, students and families,” says Principal Katie Teekell ’00.
Sr. Jodi Min, O.P. will serve as the Director of Holy Cross Mission and Ministry, overseeing and coordinating the religious and pastoral activities at Saint Francis. Sr. Jodi was a well-loved educator at Saint Francis from 1994 to 2009 when she taught in and chaired the Religious Studies department, served as a mentor teacher, coordinated immersion programs at Saint Francis and coached girls basketball. A member of the Dominican Sisters of Oakford for nearly three decades, she left Saint Francis to run her order’s formation house and program in San Leandro. Sr. Jodi recently returned to the Bay Area after spending the last three years in Tucson, Ariz., running a US/Mexico border immersion program for Christian Brothers schools around the country.
"We could not be happier to welcome Sr. Jodi Min back to Saint Francis as our Director of Holy Cross Mission and Ministry,” says Mrs. Teekell. “Sr. Jodi has dedicated her career to supporting the spiritual growth and formation of students, and she brings a depth of knowledge, experience and a strong foundation in Holy Cross mission and values to our community."
