Retreats
Retreats at Saint Francis High School are an integral part of the spiritual development of all Holy Cross students. The retreat program is designed to give students an opportunity to remove themselves from an everyday routine to reflect and pray.
Freshman Retreat
This mandatory retreat welcomes the freshman to our Holy Cross family at Saint Francis High School. The event is always held on the Sunday before the start of the school year. The freshmen are welcomed by the Junior and Senior student retreat leaders. The freshmen experience a variety of activities during the day including liturgy, prayer, reflection, discussion and small group activities.
Sophomore Service Learning Day
In lieu of a sophomore retreat, all sophomores will go on a mandatory service learning day with their Religious Studies class. The sophomore service learning day is at HOPE Services in Mountain View, working with developmentally disabled individuals. A follow-up prayerful reflection will follow this day of service.
Junior Retreat
This optional retreat is an overnight retreat held at Saint Francis Retreat Center in San Juan Bautista. The retreat centers on the theme of life journey. It gives the students an opportunity to examine their relationship with self, friends, family and God.
Senior Retreat
Seniors have the opportunity to go on the student led Holy Cross Retreat. All retreats are at the Jesuit Retreat Center in Los Altos. These retreats give students an experience of silence and solitude that enriches the student’s life in a myriad of ways.
