Debit Lunch Account Program
Saint Francis High School and Epicurean Group have partnered to implement a computerized debit lunch account program to use in the Lancer Cafe, after-school snack counters and concession stands. This system will benefit you, your student, and the school in many ways. We hope that you and your student will consider taking advantage of the convenient options the debit lunch account program.
To use the debit lunch program, you will need to deposit funds into an account you create at www.MySchoolBucks.com or you may pay by check (payable to Epicurean Group) and drop it off at the Business Office. Please note that MySchoolBucks is a third-party group and is not managed by Epicurean. More information on payments options below and in the FAQ.
- MySchoolBucks will allow you to pay in advance for lunch items, snacks and beverages. The online payment system offers the following benefits:
- Scheduled recurring payments
- Automatic deposits when your child’s account balance runs low
- Extended purchase history for the past 90 days
- Low balance email notifications
- E-wallet to save credit card information for future use
- Mobile-friendly website
To track food purchases, Epicurean uses Cafe Enterprise, its point-of-sale software. All enrolled students will have a Cafe Enterprise account. If paying online by credit card, you can make an automatic payment when the account reaches a certain level of your choosing.
To prevent fraudulent use of student accounts, each register will display a digital image of your student on the monitor for the cashier to view every time your child accesses his or her account. Your child will authorize purchases with the last five digits of his or her student ID number. No one other than the student will be allowed to use their account. This means that siblings, parents or friends may not use another student’s account. There are no exceptions. A student, when present, may purchase for another student, which will be noted in the purchase history in MySchoolBucks.
Negative balances will not be permitted. Please be sure your child has money in their account at all times to ensure they are able to purchase their meals, snacks etc. You can make sure of this by signing up for the automatic deposit feature via MySchoolBucks.
The school charges an annual fee to use the debit lunch account program. This annual fee is $10 and will be charged to all active accounts by September 10 each school year. Any account that doesn’t have a minimum balance of $10 will be deactivated, and you will need call the Lancer Cafe at 650-968-1213, ext. 262 to activate the account and add funds through MySchoolBucks or make a check payment (payable to Epicurean Group). The $10 fee will be deducted at the time the check payment is processed or after the first online payment is processed. Please plan accordingly.
MySchoolBucks accounts will be available for deposits after August 1, 2016. Checks (payable to Epicurean Group) may be dropped off in the Business Office after August 8, 2016. All check payments received before 3 p.m. on August 16, 2016 will be processed in time for the first day of school on August 17, 2016.
Thank you for your cooperation and your participation. We hope you will take advantage of all of the convenient options. We look forward to the new school year. And are looking forward to serving the students and community with fresh, natural, and organic food to nourish the body and minds of your teen.
You can only use credit cards to load an account at www.MySchoolBucks.com. After you create your account you can add funds to your student’s account using your Visa, MasterCard or Discover Card. A small handling fee of $2.50 is added to each payment with a deposit maximum of $200 per transaction.
While the cap of $200 is low, MySchoolBucks has an auto-replenish feature so that you do not need to log in every few weeks to add funds. You can set your student’s account so that when it dips below a certain amount, (for example $30), MySchoolBucks will automatically charge your credit card to replenish the account. You can set the amount of the auto charge, when the auto-charge feature will begin and when it is to be turned off. For example, you can set the auto-charge to start in August and stop in June. This auto-replenishment feature works with a credit card only.
Note: When setting up your account in MySchoolBucks, please make sure that you select SAINT FRANCIS HIGH SCHOOL - MOUNTAIN VIEW as your district. If you do not select the right school, you will not to find your child listed when you create your account. If you have students at different schools that use MySchoolBucks, you can have multiple districts.
If you do not wish to use a credit card, you may make payments via check. All checks should be made payable to Epicurean Group. Checks can be dropped off in the Business Office during normal school hours. Checks received by 9:30 a.m. will be processed the same day before lunch service (but may not be available for breakfast or snack that day). There are no additional fees for making check payments, and there are no caps on the amount of the check.
If you choose to pay by check, please print out the check deposit form and return it with your first deposit. For the first payment and all subsequent payments, please write the student's name and ID number on the memo line of the check. If paying for more than one student with one check, please note both students information and how much money is to be designated to each student. Otherwise the deposit amount will be divided equally.
You may also mail the check to Saint Francis High School, Attn: Epicurean Group, but be aware there maybe be a several day delay in the processing of mailed payments. Please enclose the check payment form and make sure the check has the student’s name and ID#.
If you do not wish to use the Cafe Enterprise debit lunch account, the Lancer Café, snack counters and concession stands will still accept cash at most registers. However, there may be registers that give preference to payments made through the debit lunch accounts or exclude cash payments all together.
