Saint Francis High School Women's Club 2017-18
Be the Change
As an East coast native, I grew up loving winter: the cold weather, the beauty of new fallen snow and the joy of long afternoons spent indoors playing games or baking with my family. As an adult, the early period of the year is one of my favorites because it seems that everyone is trying to adhere to their resolutions to become better people: nicer, kinder, more forgiving, more selectively involved. It’s the perfect time to consider this year’s Women’s Club theme of “Be the change you want to see in the world”.
Our club is all about getting mothers involved at Saint Francis for the good of the students, the school, the community, and themselves. We offer ample opportunity over the course of the remaining school year for you to do one or all of these, either as a guest or as a volunteer.
Earlier in January we had the Women’s Retreat, where we learned about recognizing God through our five senses. SFHS alumnus Ginny Kubitz Moyer taught us about Ignatian Spirituality and it was a beautiful morning of reflection, worship and appreciation.
You get a chance to connect with your daughters at our upcoming Father-Daughter Casino night or the Mother-Daughter Mass and Brunch (attend/volunteer). Boys and their moms came out in great numbers for the traditional Mother-Son casino night in January and had a prayer breakfast with their dads in October.
We’ve had so much fun getting to know other moms at our big dinner meetings, that we thought it would be fun to have another more intimate get together. If you’re in need of a night out or simply want to meet other Lancer moms, join us at our first Lucky Lady Lancer Bunko evening on February 28.
Please mark your calendars for the Lancer Auction 2018 - "California Knights" on March 24. This is a fun, festive evening of celebration and fundraising for the school. It is the premier party event of the year and you don’t want to miss it.
Finally, we’re looking for new members to join the Women’s Club Board. If you’re interested, would like to nominate someone, or just need more information please reach out to Stacy Reitmeir at email@example.com.
Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions at all on anything!
