The Holy Cross Achievers (HCA) Program

The Holy Cross Achievers (HCA) Program offers students comprehensive and intentional assistance in meeting their long-term social and academic goals.

Students in HCA are first-generation college-bound students and identify from underrepresented backgrounds such as Latinx, Hispanic, Black, Pacific Islander, and Native American.

Support for our students begins in the summer of their incoming 9th grade year with our HCA Summer Institute. We provide various workshops to help students develop foundational academic skills, partake in community building activities and cultivate relationships with educators and school community members. The extensive and collective support continues throughout the entirety of each student’s high school journey.

We serve, support and affirm our students through the following program features:

  • One-on-one mentorship with an on-campus educator
  • Daily collaboration/study time to meet with mentors, educators, and peers
  • Additional academic support through after school and evening tutoring from on-campus educators
  • College-readiness workshops and career-focused presentation offerings lead by our counselors, educators, alumni, and school community members
  • Student leadership formation
  • Student field trips to colleges, universities, and companies such as Adobe and Google
  • Class-level community and bonding opportunities
  • Monthly parent/guardian meeting updates and family connection opportunities
