Opening Our Doors

Saint Brother André Bessette, C.S.C., the first saint of the Congregation of Holy Cross, recognized the profound impact of a simple, welcoming gesture. For over 40 years, he served as the doorkeeper at Notre Dame College in Montreal, Canada, greeting countless visitors with warmth and kindness. As you step through the doors of Saint Francis, we honor his legacy—embracing all who enter with a spirit of hospitality, community and belonging.

Bay Tree

Long before Saint Francis High School was built, the majestic bay laurel tree (Laurus nobilis) stood tall in an orchard here in Mountain View. Now overlooking Ron Calcagno Stadium, it provides a striking backdrop to our athletic events and serves as a powerful symbol of our school’s heritage. Deeply rooted in tradition, the bay tree represents the legacy of those who came before us and the ongoing growth of our community.
