IN THIS SECTION

We know that the Bay Area is a busy place and do not want distance to be a deterrent from attending Saint Francis. Many of our students choose to take public transit or choose to create carpools to ease the commute. You will find more information about both of these options below.

Transit

Caltrain can be a great option for those living within a few miles of a Caltrain station. SFHS will contribute 30% the cost of a Caltrain monthly pass.

We provide shuttle bus service in the morning from the Mountain View Caltrain Station to SFHS campus. Details to sign up for these programs and resources are below.

Transit Incentive

SFHS will contribute 30% to the cost of your Caltrain youth monthly pass. We will share more details about how to apply for this subsidy after the class of 2030 has been finalized.

Getting from the Mountain View Caltrain Station to the School

Saint Francis Bus
Saint Francis offers a shuttle bus service every morning from the Mountain View Caltrain station to campus. The shuttle arrives at the train station at 7:05 a.m. and leaves at 7:30 a.m. You can complete our google form at the start of the 2026-27school year if you are interested in this option.

VTA Bus Route 51
If you arrive to campus later than 7:30 a.m. or in the afternoon, the VTA 51 bus is an option. The bus stops at Cuesta and Miramonte Ave and the Mountain View Transit Center.   View the VTA bus routes and system map for an overview of the route. Use the VTA trip planner or the Transit app to plan your trip.

Mountain View Community Shuttle
The Mountain View Community Shuttle is a free service around Mountain View. Stops include the Mountain View Transit Center and Cuesta and Miramonte.   Service hours are currently between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Monday – Friday and 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.  All shuttles have bicycle racks. View the system map and download the Tripshot app for real time updates and a route schedule.

Caltrain
Caltrain runs from San Francisco to Gilroy. If you live within a few miles of a Caltrain station, this can be a great option to get to campus. If you are new to Caltrain, check out the resources below to help plan your trip.

Bike & Walk

Biking and walking to campus can be a great option for those living within a few miles of campus.

After you enroll at Saint Francis, you can request to be added to our bike list. We would like to keep track of how many bicyclists there are coming to campus for planning purposes. Also, you may receive periodic updates with biking information and opportunities to provide program input to shape the bicycle encouragement program.

Carpooling

Carpooling is a popular option for students and staff.

After you have enrolled at Saint Francis you will have an opportunity to add your information to our carpool map. From there, you can contact other families from the map to coordinate your carpool. Our Lancer Family Connections leads will also help connect you with our incoming families in your area at our events for enrolled students over the spring and summer.
