At Saint Francis, we believe that every student deserves the opportunity to thrive academically—with support that recognizes their unique strengths and needs.
Our Learning Support program serves students with diagnosed learning differences and those who benefit from accommodations or additional academic guidance.
We provide:
- Individualized accommodation plans based on professional evaluations, IEPs or 504 plans.
- Ongoing support and collaboration with families, teachers and outside professionals.
- Priority placement in American Sign Language (ASL) for students with language-based learning differences.
- Guidance with standardized testing accommodations (SAT/ACT).
Every student with a diagnosed learning difference works closely with our Learning Specialists to build self-advocacy skills and develop strategies that support long-term success. Accommodations become a meaningful part of each student’s classroom experience—never a separate track.
While we do not offer a modified curriculum or grading, we are committed to providing appropriate and reasonable support in a rigorous academic environment.
Resource Lab
A small number of students may be enrolled in the Resource Lab elective—an academic support class designed to enhance learning through personalized coaching and skill-building. Rooted in respect, empathy and encouragement, the Resource Lab fosters a safe, inclusive environment where students can grow in confidence and independence.
Focus areas include:
- Executive functioning
- Organization, prioritization and time management
- Learning styles and study strategies
- Communication and self-advocacy
- Applying accommodations effectively across classes
Our goal is to help students not only succeed in the classroom but also grow as reflective, self-aware learners prepared for life beyond high school. | ![]() |
