Lancer Family Connection focuses on the parent experience at Saint Francis to make your experience as welcoming, engaging and meaningful as it can be. It’s what brings us together.
Lancer Family Connection embodies how we love and take care of each other, how we learn and celebrate others within our Lancer family and how we look out for one another. These connections enrich our experiences and benefit our entire community.
Led by members of our Saint Francis parent community, the Lancer Family Connection nurtures the many elements that make up the parent experience. Parent committees provide leadership and oversight to plan, organize and present volunteer opportunities for our community to connect through events and activities.
In welcoming and engaging the entire family, we seek to create a comfortable and loving environment for all within the Saint Francis family to celebrate each other and enhance our community.
“Saint Francis is a community where you are always welcome and a home where you belong.”

VisionWe are excited and grateful to introduce Lancer Family Connection to our school community. This new organization, formed from the visionary work of parent leaders at Saint Francis, is a significant step in our efforts to foster new, groundbreaking parent formation. Lancer Family Connection was created to provide a leadership and support structure that would allow and encourage every parent at Saint Francis the opportunity to engage in our mission. |
Lancer Family Connection is committed to an experience that allows us to:
- Lead and share the vision that every parent in our community will be engaged in our Holy Cross mission of formation.
- Create a welcoming environment for all parents at Saint Francis in every connection to the school.
- Share management resources among groups (volunteers, event organizers, team and activity parent leaders, ambassadors and more!).
- Establish a new model for parent engagement that will become the blueprint for high schools across the country.
- Provide inspirational experiences for every member of our community that creates a possibility for personal transformation.
Engagement
1. Engagement starts with participation |
---|
While we often attend events to support our children, at Saint Francis we also participate because our presence is important to other families. Our school is reshaping the expectations of the secondary school parent experience, starting with making sure that each parent feels welcomed and cared for at Saint Francis at all times. It means we:
|
2. Involvement grows the relationship |
When parents share their skills, abilities and resources, it builds up our school community. Traditional models remain important, such as volunteering to lead events and donating to the Saint Francis Fund which allows our school to offer innovative programming. These programs ensure that every Saint Francis student has access to the full experience on campus. We are developing new connections and opportunities for parents and alumni to share their professional networks and experience for the benefit of both our student and adult programming. Lancer Family Connection creates structures that help organize and support these rapidly growing networks at Saint Francis. |
3. Holy Cross education is most successful through engagement |
For our students to enjoy the full Saint Francis experience, all of the adults in the community—including educators and parents—must be open to the growth that is the focus of our formational mission. |
Excitement
Lancer Family Connection focuses on ensuring every parent encounter within our community is imbued with the spirit of Holy Cross.

New opportunities for parentsNow is the perfect time to establish new opportunities for parents to engage and lead our school community. We are looking forward to the historic opening of our new Innovation Center this winter, and the start of the second phase of construction including our Dining Commons and Welcome Center this spring. Saint Francis continues to develop new partnerships with businesses, universities, and civic and non-profit organizations, and our parent community is essential to identifying and supporting these innovative collaborations. |
Our BRIC theme this year is “Celebrating Family,” and it is an important reminder that we choose how we care for each other as a Lancer family.
Following the challenging pandemic years, we now have the chance to redefine expectations of the community experience at Saint Francis.Every parent at Saint Francis is an important part of this effort in every aspect from vision, to engagement, to excitement.
