Quick Tips

Daily engagement in the learning environment is a critical component for success. As such, Saint Francis students are expected to maintain a consistent daily attendance record.

  • TARDIES — A student is considered tardy after the start-of-class bell rings. If a student arrives late to class, he or she is to report to the Attendance office before going to class in order to get an Admit Slip.

  • FULL AND PARTIAL DAY ABSENCES — Whether a student will be partially or entirely absent for the school day, the parent or guardian must notify Attendance before 9:00 a.m.

Please contact the attendance office to report an absence or early dismissal.

Full Day Absence

Please contact the attendance office to report full day absences.

Late Arrival

Please notify our school when a student will be arriving 30-min or more late to a class. After 30 minutes into the class, the missed time is recorded as an absence, not a tardy. If a student is arriving late to school because of a medical or dental appointment, please bring a note from the care provider to the attendance window upon arrival.

Early Dismissal
A parent will need to contact the attendance office by 9:00 a.m. on the day of a student’s early dismissal from school. The parents should specify the student’s name, time to be dismissed from class, and reason for early departure.
The student will be issued a pass to leave class at the designated time. If a parent or guardian contacts the attendance, they do not need to send a paper note with the student. School activity dismissals should not need to be noted. Students should pick up a Campus Departure Pass from the attendance window in the morning before going to any of their classes. Failure to pick up the pass before leaving campus is a violation of the attendance policy and may result in a detention.

IN THE EVENT OF A PLANNED TRIP,  please send an email to attendance@sfhs.com from a parent or guardian account (include student and parent first and last names) and specify the exact dates of the trip.
