About the Program

Students join a team, pitch ideas, and design real features for RISE, a live athletics platform used by school sports programs across the country. No coding experience required. Using Figma for UI/UX design and exploring responsible AI, students work the way professionals do: with a real brief, real constraints, and real users on the other end. The program is NSF-backed and led by Lancer alum Zeeshan Khan '17, founder of Zoetic Motion.

What Students Will Experience

Every student who completes the program earns the STEM Innovator Certification, issued by Zoetic Motion and co-sponsored by SFHS and Figma — a credential backed by a portfolio project that demonstrates applied design work, not just participation. In the 2025 cohort, 100% of students reported satisfaction with the experience, four were hired as interns, and the group's designs helped shape features now live in RISE. Whether your student is a first-time designer or already comfortable with creative tools, this program is built for mixed experience levels — so every Lancer contributes meaningfully and leaves with something worth putting on a college application.
