Saint Francis High School’s Sustainable Transportation Program is one expression of our Sustainability Framework.
During 2021-2023, we are focusing on building out the program to touch on all three pillars in the framework: I Reduce Environmental Impact and Cost, II. Health, Wellness, and Safety, III. Effective Environmental and Sustainability Education and vision to develop a robust, resilient, and inclusive system that can withstand change.
SFHS supports many sustainable options to get to school walking, bicycling, carpooling, and taking transit (Caltrain, VTA bus, Mountain View Community Shuttle, etc.) to school and opportunities for students and staff engagement to shape the program and increase effectiveness.
We recognize that commuting is a personal choice, especially at this time. SFHS encourages you to assess and select the option(s) that best meets your needs. Information we provide is not intended to encourage specific commute mode choices.
How to Get to School
Bike & Walk

Bicycle User Groups
If you currently bicycle to campus, please fill out the form to add your name to this list. We would like to keep track of how many bicyclists there are coming to campus for planning purposes. Also, you may receive periodic updates with biking information and opportunities to provide program input to shape the bicycle encouragement program.

Transit
Transit
Caltrain can be a great option for those living within a few miles of a Caltrain station. SFHS will contribute 30% the cost of a Caltrain monthly pass. We provide shuttle bus service in the morning from the Mountain View Caltrain Station to SFHS campus. Details to sign up for these programs and resources are below.
Transit Incentive
SFHS will contribute 30% to the cost of your Caltrain youth monthly pass. If you are interested in the transit subsidy:
- Apply for a Youth Clipper Card (This is a one-time process, which takes about 5-7 days.)
- Register your Youth Clipper Card on Clipper.com.
- Send an email to the Sustainable Transportation Program Coordinator at this email with the subject heading “transit subsidy”. Include the name of the Caltrain station where you board. This will allow us to calculate the 30% CalTrain monthly pass subsized based on the number of zones you travel through to get to the Mountain View Transit Station.
