Stanford's Department of Genetics
At this workshop, high school students can talk with current Stanford faculty, grad students, and trainees to learn how they pursued the research they are passionate about. You'll also get an exciting peek into the cutting-edge research being done by Stanford Genetics, and walk away with useful tips for pitching your own ideas. Students can join in-person or via Zoom. The workshop fee ranges from $78.00 (virtual) to $103.50 (in-person).

Bay Area Rotary Club
Are you a high school Junior? Have you ever watched “Shark Tank” and said to yourself “I can do that!” Have you ever thought about creating your own company? If you answered “yes” to these questions, you fit the profile of an "entrepreneurial thinker” and should take the next step. Bay Area Rotary Clubs are seeking students who are interested in an experience of business entrepreneurship through a 3-day workshop. It is available to juniors at no cost.

CURE Summer Internship Program
Applications are now open for the UCSF Center for Science, Education and Outreach 2026 CURE Research Internship program!
CURE is an 8-week summer research internship designed to provide rising senior high school students and City College of San Francisco students with a hands-on research experience at UCSF.
Participants are paired with a UCSF lab and provided with mentorship and experiential laboratory experiences across the spectrum of research, including basic, clinical, behavioral, and population sciences. Students also engage in professional development, college preparation, and an opportunity to explore academic and career pathways in health and science fields.
Eligibility requirements:
- Current high school junior or current City College of San Francisco student
- Must be 16 years old by start of program
- Must be interested in RESEARCH and LAB sciences
- Minimum GPA 2.5
- Completed Biology or Chemistry with a B or better
- Must be available for the entire 8-week program (40 hours a week)
